Nice. You've got so much more variety than I do. I just have mollies in my 150L! Just good ole mollies.

Re: Bill's tank

Ooh lovely! The silver guppy is just lovely- iridescent even. It must be so pretty swimming around the tank!

Re: Bill's tank

Thank you

I'm getting bad vibes off my dwarf gouramis now though, I can see that the other fish are all tense. The female is constantly chased by the male and just spends all her time hiding, and the male is dashing around barging the other fish Why did he stupid LFS only sell them in pairs?! I'd much rather have a ram than a miserable female gourami.

Re: Bill's tank

Would buying more females be an option, or are you near overstocked, like all of us?

Re: Bill's tank

When the fish are fully grown, I am overstocked by a few inches. I probably couldn't get another female even if I wanted, although that might be what the LFS recommends when I tell them about the problem (rather than saying I can return the female). So frustrating! My tank was going so well until now.

Re: Bill's tank

I found a dead neon today I did a head count this morning, several times and I could only see 11 neons... I came in this evening to check on the fish and I saw a little pale red and blue thing I don't know how he died, but the other fish had clearly been nipping at the corpse (it was all eaten up in two halves) so I don't think it could have been one of the larger fish wanting to eat him. They would have surely eaten the whole thing? It can't have been a rock shrimp either, because they are filter feeders and have no claws. The other fish are all fine, which is a good thing at least.

Re: Bill's tank

poor little guy.. no way to know how he died really but check all the usual suspects.. water chemistry, etc.

Re: Bill's tank

Yes, I will be getting rams later. I've had a weird epiphany: in 4 years I'll be leaving home and I'll have to leave my tank! Really weird thinking about it. I'm slightly regretting having such a big tank. If I'd got a 15 gallon I wouldn't be in debt and the maintenance would be easier. I'd have a ram, 6 neons and a clown plec with some live plants and bogwood and it'd be just as nice as my 160L, just with less fish. I'll get a 15 gallon when I move away.
