| Re: Bill's tank Thanks
Just thought I'd post this here as this board seems to get more traffic than the dwarf gourami one: my female dwarf gourami is really sick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://www.fishlore.com/Forum/index.php?topic=12561.0 |

| Re: Bill's tank Pics just uploading...
Colin is in solitary confinement because he was chasing the rams. I'm going to keep him (in the bag the rams came in) there for a couple of days so that he calms down and will hopefully leave them alone. When they swam past the bag, he was really trying to get out, thrashing about... I hope he gets over the new arrivals
Oh, and another neon is missing, presumed dead and probably eaten Poor little chaps, I don't know why they keep dying. All parameters etc. is fine. |

| Re: Bill's tank Thank you They don't need more space than any other fish, just plenty of hiding places and plants and they are quite sensitive. They only get to about 2" long (males maybe a little bigger) and are very peaceful. Those photos are taken with flash and show the colours so much better than in the aquarium light, which is really annoying In the aquarium light you can hardly see the blues. |

| Re: Bill's tank well, they've impressed me enough to put them on the list in our poll for filling the 30g tank in denver. i can't find them here, but i'd think i could find them there. how expensive are they? |

| Re: Bill's tank what a beautiful fish! i'm going to look for them in denver!
the photo galleries are down because the server hosting fishlore had some kind of error yesterday so we're all having to wait on the server people to fix the problem. they said it would be fixed by this morning sometime. |

| Re: Bill's tank Bill, I don't usually look at all the pictures, but WOW!!! You really have talent using your camera! I am sure a number of folks around would pay good $$$ for you to photograph their tanks. IF you love taking the pictures as much as it appears by the quality, you should think of it as a profession. Great job!

| Re: Bill's tank Wow, thanks! Maybe once I'm 18... I have a website with some other photography that you can look at: http://billjobling.com
It hasn't been updated in a while, though... I would sell some of my photos, but since I'm only 14 I can't enter into any legally-binding contracts (so if I sell stuff on eBay, for instance, I have to use my dad's account). Thanks for the idea, though, it's certainly a possibility |

| Re: Bill's tank Tank update:
A pecking order is being established! Colin chases Pablo and Miguel, but Pablo and Miguel used to be like best friends. Now, Miguel keeps colouring up and flaring at Pablo before chasing him away. Pablo loses his colour and flattens his fins, so it's clear who's the dominant ram now. Colin still chases both of them - I just hope Pablo doesn't end up being picked upon by the two tougher fish. I have plenty of hiding places for them anyway, so any chase only lasts a few seconds, but still... If this doesn't clear up after a week I'll be worried. |

| Re: Bill's tank Sorry Bill to hear about your guppy, How are your rams getting along? I have such trouble keeping rams. They are lovely fish, and I keep trying, but at this point I only have one that is surviving. Then I also have problems keeping guppies! Hang in there.

| Re: Bill's tank The pea gravel's great, yeah
Susitna: they seem to be getting on okay, a bit of sparring between themselves and with the gourami. This morning they were both being quite aggressive towards my gups and platies, which seems very out of character, and not in keeping with anything I've read about them, unless they're breeding - I"m doing a nitrate test to see if stress could be the cause. I have plenty of hiding places in there, anyway, so it should be okay |

| Re: Bill's tank Just an update... nothing more has died!
I did a water change today (I went on holiday for a week so my weekly 25% was on Wednesday instead of Saturday), and rearranged things quite a bit to make it more secure for my lovely rams. I'll take a picture of the new arrangements to see what you guys think..
Anyway, while I was vacuuming, I found what at first looked like a dead shrimp in one of my java ferns... I fished it out and it was an exuvia, but I had only seen one shrimp while I was moving stuff around, so I was worried that the moulting one had been eaten by the fish while vulnerable I left things to settle, and when I looked at the tank next, there were the two shrimps! That was a relief anyway.
Also, my BN plec is growing fast, and now has a healthy fringe of bristles (not exactly tentacles yet :P ) so I'm assuming it's a male. Now to think of a name. I still need to name my guppies, platies and shrimp.... any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Cheers
~Bill |

And while we're at it, my bristlenose showing off his bristles, and another one of Pablo...
I'm thinking of calling the BN something Hispanic to keep with the theme of Pablo and Miguel. |
