The first one is my 29 gallon tank divided.... Just got it back cycled and have yet to add fish.
The second is my 20 gallon tank w/ guppies, platies, and panda cory cats.
The third is my other 20 gallon "beach" tank that I've recently re-did (not completely done yet, I need to fine more plants and more decorations). I've got guppies, otos, and 2 very funny panda cory cats.
yea the last time i bought fish it was $46 wasnt cheap and i only got 6 fish... before that i got 2 plecos that was $26 but they are rather large plecos (6")

Yup when I got my 5 cichlids it was almost $50. I usually wait til they put the ones on sale for my other tanks or get the ones that are on sale (petland will put the more popular fish on sale for either $1.88 or 88 cents.) with the 55 gallon I got what I really wanted, reguardless of price (well i limited myself to under $15 per fish)
Mlindin, I like the tank with the beer bottles... Good idea!
Thanks! But I can't take full credit for the idea, I saw another member's tank with it, and decided I wanted to try something like that in my "beach" themed tank. My baby/young guppies LOVE to play/hide in them!
lol.. well 'betta' will add "the betta bug" to your MTS.
= ) I think he already has! I was thinking about getting 2 more for my divided 29 gallon tank... but I haven't decided yet. The tank is in my room (which im in only to sleep) and after my experience with Betta, i know they like more human interaction than me just dumping food in for them. I'm thinking about building a stand to hold both of my 20 gallons and my 10 gallon, that way I could have most of my tanks in the same room which would make easier for feeding/waterchanges/etc...
yea, they do enjoy the interaction and once they get used to it they can pout, play sick or stop eating even if they get to feeling neglected. some are more 'needy' than others, but they do love to watch activity and i've found they enjoy being around the computer since i'm on it a lot (this is the busiest room for us).. and each one has things they like to play with.. like our Sora who is totally into bridges or Mickey who loves caves, Kairi gets endless entertainment from her castle.. it's really fun learning each betta's personality as it develops.
How big are your tanks? I'm thinking about getting a 5 gallon for Betta so he can have his old spot on my desk again (there's just not enough room for the 10 gallon) I work online and am always doing homework at my desk, so he'll get a lot more attention. How did you figure out what your fish like (caves castles etc)?

they range from 2.5g to 10g (we just got a used 30g that needs cleaned & cycled). we got different types of things.. some columns to lean on the glass, different "caves" with plenty of holes for them to swim in & out of, bridges, anemones, etc.. and watched what got the most attention.

Have you decided what you are keeping in the 30 gallon yet?
Looks like I may have to get some more decorations for Betta, all I've got in there for him right now is plants.
we might use it for a grow-out tank for betta fry when we do a 2nd spawning of the mahachai.. or trade it for a long tank, then use that for the fry.. or just use the 30g for other fish and get a long tank for the fry.
the beer bottles as "caves" is just excellent, I am tempted myself...
My cory cats LOVE the bottles. They would get into the ones that stand up and act like they were stuck and swim all frantic. I'd get worried and go to rescue them and they'd swim out as if nothing was wrong. The guppies never had anything to do with them though. Just make sure you don't have fish that are big enough to get stuck!
My new bettas! I've had them for about a week now. These pictures are from the day I got them. (one of the pictures is really yellow from the light, it's really not that dirty!)
The white/blue one is Scuba
The red/white one is Strawberry/Gary (spongebob's pet snail) his name changes depending on what my daughter wants to call him for the day!
