You could fit a pair of them in a 10 gallon. You could also add a couple ghost shrimp

ghost shrimp are fun. You could also go with live plants

Would two males be too aggressive? Shrimp sound fun!

Some people say that they are, but I had two males and they were fine.

Hi Melybu
are you sure you want to go with two male gourami? They will get aggressive when they do not have the room to make their own territory.Even with the room, they will still find each other to fight. I believe that the ten gal is too small for two of them. Even tho the dwarf get to only 2.5 inches, they really need more swimming area than a 10g can afford them.
Since you really seem to like them, and believe me they are kewl.. Ive had them before as well, maybe you can just go with one male? Personally I wouldnt put even one in a 10g, but thats just me. Then go with your shrimp or whatever else you wanted to put in there.

No fish yet. Too many choices. CapeKate, thanks for the advice. I see what you're saying. I look at my baby goldfish and think, "They look so small in that 30g." I know 3 wouldn't be comfy.
