Martinismommy, thank you for the fascinating photos. I've never seen anything like it. All those little tails are fish! Congratulations!

Karen, why don't you have a blog? It would be of great help to other members with your spawning success.
Your threads and pics will all be in the same place and won't get lost in the shuffle. Older threads..I think 6 months old automatically get put in the archives.

A blog can just be a record of your pics and progress.

Here...take a look at other's blogs.
http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/member-blogs/

If you decide to start one, and I think you should. I can find your threads and move them there.

With a tightly covers tank how do you feed the little guys?

Ky, I wrap the top with clear plastic wrap and just open it at feeding time...

wow... I wish I could take pics like you. And everyone will definetly want some of these babies.
Have you thought of trying the method where you leave dad in with the fry all the way through?

p.s. This would be a great blog

Red......As tempting as it is to leave the Dad in for weeks I haven't tried it....It is just not worth risking the whole spawn...After my red Crownie ate all his fry I decided it is best to remove him when they fry start free swimming.....

Everyone is looking good this morning....All is going well.....

Glad to know that all is going well.

Ok, I was curious if you'd tried it or not. I've read that it can work (though there is always a set of problems to every method). I think that if I ever get up the nerve to breed I'd like to try it out. Though with babies as good as these I can see why you wouldn't want to risk a spawn.

Lucy..Can you please move my spawning threads to a blog for me....I agree it will be helpful for members searching for breeding info...

Here are some new pictures of my little wigglers...There are several who are already coloring up which I have never seen at this age.....This is the largest spawn I've had so far and I haven't found any dead as of yet....They are chowing down on microworms and swimming all over the tank.

Here is a shot so you can get an idea of just how tiny betta fry are....If you have ever seen microworms they are barely visiable to the naked eye....Now take a look at how big they look next to 5 day old fry!

10 days since spawning and 9 days from hatching the babies are eating well....They get a combo of microworms and BBS...I've started turning the lights out at night so they can sleep....I can see beautiful mustard gas coloring on them already....I'm also seeing Ventras this time at a very young age....

Here they are at 9 days post hatching..Their white bellies are a sign they are getting plenty of food.....(who would have known) lol

Since this is such a big spawn will you have room for all the boys? Or do you need to clear some space?
