I am not a huge fan of the dragon look either...I do like the masked like my turquoise male coming. I love the BF pattern too, and the ones labeled black hawk, tiger tails and peacocks. Multi colored like my other boy coming.

Thanks ladies.....Yes, Shawnie, the old lady in the shoe is down right pooped out lol....I have 3 spawns I'm riasing right now so all I do is feed and clean! It's been fun having the kids here to share in my excitement....I could never do it any other way but "All in" as far as breeding....Right now I'm about $1500.00 into it lol I just bought 25 grow out tanks today for the boys...I'll probably be needing 100 more lol....Oh, let's not forget about the handling of the gooy microworms! Breeding Bettas is not for the weak that's for sure lol......

Back to my shoe! lol

Wowzers on the money!! I think I'll do one spawn maybe 2 at a time.
Micro worms I use tweezers for my blood worms and other yummy looking treats.

How many babies do you think you've got from 3 spawns?

Aww so cute, so almost a month old. It'll be interesting to see which each fish looks like in a month from now.
You are doing an awesome job!

I have the 1st spawn of my Butterfly sibbling pair..From that I have 14 that lived...I repeated the breeding and those babies are 10 days old and there are a LOT more that survived this time....Probably because the parents were conditioned so well the 2nd time..I'd say there are at least 50 and maybe 100 in that tank.....Then I have Dunns/Dragon lady litter....I have no clue how many are in there...They are all really dark and they hide a lot.....So all together I have around 100 (as of today) Things change daily though....I haven't losy any of the 1st litter in a week so that's a good thing.....

That so cool. So I can hopefully expect roughly 20-50 fry to survive per spawn. It seem that is what most of the Canadian breeders get too. Not 500 like some people expect.
Litter? Spawn you mean, lol!

Ahh Karen...is my Dunn boy a daddy Can't wait to see pics! The last pics are adorable, makes me want to smooch and hug those little mites!!

I am trying to catch up some reading on the forum....but am so far behind. Just reading bettas has taken an hour...LOL.

I am tickled to learn that you are successful in your breeding effort, I would love to dash over for a teeny "martini" and help you clean and feed. Thanks for sharing!

Val....YES! Our beautiful Dunn is a Daddy....I got my 1st glimps of the little wigglers today as I did the water change..I have left them alone from birth (unlike me) lol but I'm trying different things as I learn the art of "betta breeding" ...

We have quite a few....I'm super excited to see what tail type we end up with...I will post photos of our gorgeous babies soon....
