Allie, I don't advise breeding pet store bettas...The only reason I tried this is because I have done enough research to know that Dunn is a quality boy.....The bad part is not knowing what is behind him.....This will be the only time I try something like this...From here on out it is back to business lol... | I don't advise it either. But from what I have read, even when breeders breed quality betta: they still aren't sure what colors they will end up with.
For example one of Hung's batches from Mustard gas spawn most of these fish are from the same spawn unless otherwise stated. Look at the colors http://www.halfmoonspread.com/stockforsaleupdated.htm
I am hoping to get some of these fish if he has some left. |

| I thought I'd update on my Betta babies....
Everything has been going wonderful...The babies are all growing and Grandma (me) is wore out lol...I have about 75 live fry from Shannon my Butterfly girl.. The DunnXDragon lady litter is too small to say just yet...
I'd love to share photos but..... As I was trying to get that perfect close up of my fattest baby I realized my lense was in the water! Shoot shoot shoot lol...I need stronger glasses I suppose...
Anyway, all the kids are thriving and this has been one heck of an experience...Steve calls it the Neonatal ward lol...
I'm planning on spawning my blue pair next...I tried once but she didn't like him so they will try again next week....
Here is the male... |

Are they showing colors yet?

| Pam...Can't see colors yet because they are still in the spawn tank...Once I move them into the grow out tank I'll know more about colors...I'm expecting Lavendar/pink butterfly patterns on the fry considering they are sibblings...
Camera...Hummmm Well, I think it is time for a new one lol.... |

| Allie, if you lived closer I'd let you borrow my Dragon girl....She is a great spawner she even helps put the kids in the nest...
Keep your chin up...You'll get a spawn eventually.....Maybe you should try another male next time....I have not been able to get my Dragon male to spawn....He is downright MEAN! He grabs the females lip and won't let go......Maybe it is something with the Dragons... |

Maybe, they are RED dragons, which I remember hearing that red betta in general are more aggressive. Yeah I will be trying others first before Zeus again. He may not be a breeder, just a killer.
You were born the the "betta" touch. I want that too, like I do with cats.
Heather is having trouble keeping hers too. Maybe something is up with Nova Scotia's water or something?
Who knows but I am sick of losing my betta. |

Karen, your babies are incredibly adorable! No wonder you're in love! It should be really fun to watch them develop colors and see the difference in males and females. Lot of work, but really fun! Again, thanks for sharing the adventure. |

| Allie...I am not planning on breeding Dragons..I'm really not into the Dragons behavior or looks...I mean they are beautiful like all Bettas but I'm more into the BF pattern....My next attemp is going to be my Aqua boy Christopher to Shannon.....My blue pair didn't spawn so back in their tanks they went for now..... |
