Capitol Aquarium - Downtown Sacramento
This is by far one of the most impressive stores I've ever seen, and has been in the sacramento area for a long time. They have some great staff (and some poor staff), and great selection of fresh and marine fish. They also have a good selection of books. A bit on the pricey side, but a good resource. They also have a wonderful Koi pond in the front of the store - for a quarter you can buy food and feed the fish!

Fish Planet - Howe bout arden center, Sacramento
Relatively new, this is a huge store in a great retail based area. The stafff is incredibly friendly, and there is always someone around to help you out or answer a question. They have a kids area with books and toys, and a huge showpiece tank in the center of the store with beautiful sharks. There is a great selection of fish, plants, tanks (including the zero edge hex of my dreams) medicine, foods, etc. The prices are very reasonable.

Thanks for the tips. I live in Sacramento and have heard great things about Cap Aquarium, but have yet to go, mostly for the fact that I hate driving downtown. Id never heard of Fish Planet, but sounds nice maybe Ill go one day soon. Have you ever been to pet connection on auburn? Good selection and reasonable prices, although Im not always satisfied with the staff and the care for the fish/conditions.
