Loaches arrived at last!

About 3 months ago I asked they could get me some Botia type loaches, and when I called in today they finally had some! They were labeled as "Botia Striatia", I think they're Zebra Loaches. Anyway they're now housed in my 40gal, they have it virtually to themselves except for "Suck", my Male GBA, and a few Guppies, (it's used as a growout tank). Their arrival is very timely because I'm getting a large outbreak of snails in there at the moment, so hopefully they'll get to work on them! Tryed to take a few pics but they're still a bit shy.

I've never kept Loaches before, but the tank is easily large enough for them and theres a good current in it plus lots of little snails so hopefully they'll do well!

Aww they're really cool! I'm glad you finally got them.

(Dumb question: in that first picture, on the top left of your tank, what are those box-looking things? I'm just curious to learn new tank stuff.)

I think they are in-tank refugiums.

I saw some loaches at a local pet store and didn't think they were labelled correctly, but now I know what they are, and they are very cool. But congrats on your buy.

I got 3 of them, they have settled in very well, plus I saw one of them picking a snail off the glass earlier which is a bonus! Does anyone know how to sex them?

According to Loaches.com females have a more rounded abdomen.
