Bloated Horse Faced Loach

So I have a few horse-faced loaches in my tank, a smaller loach and a larger one (4 inches). Well the larger one has been almost non-existant lately and this morning i saw him/her and it had a very large belly.

Now granted that in this tank there are balloon mollies that just gave birth, corydoras that just laid eggs, do you think there is a slight chance that my loach is preggo?

Mabye. Or I know sometimes fish (mainly gold fish) get a swimbladder disease where they get bloated. This is from over feeding.

Are you over feeding her? It might be that, just don't feed them for a few days. Otherwise, it might be preggo.

Hello Xvitox. There is a possibility that the fish could be constipated as well. Have you seen the fish poo lately? I would suggest feeding (and you can feed this to the entire tank) thawed, frozen peas (don't use canned peas because of salts and other stuff). Boil them for just a minute or two. Cut them in half and remove the skin. Then you can cut them into smaller pieces if need be. Peas act as a laxative and are high in fiber. If the fish is constipated then the peas should help it relieve itself. Best of luck.

Horse faced loach. It's been a while since had those loaches. If swimming and eating normally and water is up to par, would just monitor. If tank has many fishes breeding, maybe it has very good meal (meals)?

Loaches don't often breed in captivity but the females will sometimes fill with eggs then expel or re-absorb the eggs.
