We lost all the babies

Howdy: int eh last two days we have discovered fries in the "Momma tank" we started with one guupy fry that was born before the female died. This morning the female molly starting haveing babies and as close as we can tell of the ten she has had, she has ate. We have tried to keep this from happening, but it didn't help.

Anyone got suggestions on how to keep this from happening again?

Well at least we still have the "toddlers" ( the seven babies born 2 months ago, we started with 40)

Snowfrog

Edit to correct a grammer error

Hello snowfrog and welcome to fishlore!

Most live bearers will eat their fry. Most keepers have a breeder net set aside so whenever you find fry you just add them to the breeder box. Its just a net that separates the fry from the parents allowing you to grow them..

We tried that.
our Molly in question is a bit bullheaded. and a dang good jumper, I have seen her go over the top of our tank divider.

PS. Please excuse my spelling errors, been a long day and I am surprised that I can type at all.

its ok! we all have typos sometimes one day i was very tired and wrote a very long response, then i noticed i wrote in caps LOL i was too lazy to go back and fix it, so its ok

ok, well if you are worried about her jumping over, you could put a piece of plastic or something that could prevent her from making herself into the net.
