When do I release them?

Right now I have an empty 20g tank. Lion(RIP) used to live there but lost the battle that ended his life. I put some meds in the tank on the 26th(It was Jungle Parasite Clear). Anyways when can I release my two platy fry in there. I did a 25% water change today. I have some carbon so should I use some or will they be fine?

This is just my opinion but I would add some carbon and do a couple more water changes before adding the babies. I would want to make sure all meds were out before I added any new fish.

i'd say do a few more water changes and add them in a week or 2.

Good morning ty. How long has your tank been empty? I'm afraid that if your bio media hasn't had any ammonia to feed from you may have lost your cycle. I suggest taking some readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate first and let us know and we'll go from there.

I agree with aquarist...if you havent been feeding the tank, and its just been empty , it probably isnt cycled anymore..I would run the carbon for a few weeks to clean it up....have you tested the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates lately? also, MOST meds will kill the cycle anyhow so making sure its all set cycle wise, is the only way to go..especially with sensitive fry
