swortail. male or female??

ok easy i know but it has no tail and a modified fin??
its about 1 1/2 inchs long now, was born in my tank

any ideas?

It's a male. Definatly. The Sword can take a while to develop.

I agree you can see the gonopodium indicating its a male.

That is male. The bottom fin is a dead give away. He is a handsome little fella though.

Definitely a male. It has a very distinct gonopodium.

Swords only need the gonopodium, the swordtail is less neccesary.

I don't understand the voting. This is not a popularity contest, it is a gender determination on a fish that has obvious primary sex characteristics. It is a male with absolutely no doubt. The fact that your sword has yet to develop a sword tail does not change his gender.

Agreed Male. Sometimes polls are a lot easier to get information from compared to scrolling and checking every post. (just my conclusion as to why there is a poll here)
