Hi everyone, i just wanted to know what you thought of this list for a 27 gallon hexagn tank, here it is...

4-6 platys (red wag)
2-4 mollies (black and dalmation)
6-8 guppies (fancy tails)
6 ghost shrimp

and yes, the tank will be dual gender so I will be awaiting fry! I can sclae back on numbers if nessary. and the filtration with be a HOB filter either top fin, whisper, aqueon, or aquacler and I will also have a lee's economy corner filter at the bottom for x-tra filtration. I'm so glad I finally decided what to do with this tank! please respond!

oh, and I almost forgot, a gold gourami (Bergen) will also be living in the tank.

I would scale back the numbers, and perhaps even limit things to only two types of livebearers and the gourami. That's just a lot of fish for a 27g tank.
In particular, I'm thinking that the mollies may cause problems for the other fish. I learned the hard way that mollies in a hex tank (which has a smaller footprint and top than "normal" tanks) can starve other fish, or each other, by driving them away from food.

Sounds like a beautiful setup, though. Have any idea on colors you want for the different livebearers?
