my female guppy had 21 fry this morning . what i found unusual is they never came out swimming. they came out of mum in little balls then it took a few mins for the balls to open and for the fry to start moving around. once they had started swimming we noticed they had very large (swollen) bellys/chest. some of them still seem a little weak and still have big bellys ,where as others are ok and there bellys are no longer large what could be wrong thanks x

I've experienced cases like that before when I was breeding Guppies a few years ago. How long has the pregnant guppy been holding her fry? The fry might of came out too early so they weren't ready? Not sure...

Maybe if you get some photos of it (you can try), then I may be able to see whats wrong. There could be alot of possibilities.

The large belly sounds like it is the egg sac that they live off before birth...sounds like you got a batch of preemies to me....good luck.

I think they may have been prem they all died apart from 3 so thanks to all who helped me with my problem
