i have a fairly sized aquarium.....holds about 20 gallons or so........and i have 5 platies...5 swordtails and 5 mollies........Am i over stocking?........

platies: 5 x 2"
swordtails 5 x 3"
mollies 5 x 4"

You have 45 inches of full grown fish in 20 something gallons.

what type of swordtails? some can get bigger than that, as can some mollies.. is another tank or a bigger tank an option? how long have you had them & would the store take some back? If so, you may want to go with just platys in the current tank.

hmmmm........i had the fishes for about a month now.......and my other options would be.....just to give away some of the fishes........hmmm....for my platies: they are about 2 inches....my mollies: about 2-3 inches......and my swordtails:i have two 4 inched males...and the rest is about 2-3...they are ordinary red swordtail variatus

it would probably be best to keep 1 of the 3 species and find a LFS or friends who would take the others. Many LFS will give some store credit for the fish.

oki thx guys......^__^......i think i already know which fish to keep.........my black mollies.......^__^....they are simply just adorable........and out of the 3 species......they are the most fun to be with......^__^.........
