live rock question

Any way I can lure out the critters in the live rock or do I just sit and wait?

Re: love rock question

I think you just wait, htough if you don't see any, you may not have any. Are you in the US, the US doesn't always have that great of LR, what type do you have?

Re: love rock question

It all depends. I think it's just luck depending what you have, though you can buy more LR for your tank so you still have chance, need to be patient for them to come out though.

Re: love rock question

I am probably the most impatient person ever. I am going to buy from this one guy who has the best live rock. It might be pricey but its worth it. His has urchins on it and sponges. Almost everything. I will give it 2 weeks to see what comes out. If nothing I will buy from the guy I was talking about.

BTW I am going to get a 100 watt heater tomorrow. See if I can get one that goes up to 78 degrees not 90.

Re: love rock question

get two 75watts so if one breaks you have a back up and you don't lose all your fish. The LR I bought today really did not look like it had much life on it, so maybe the US rock really does just stink that bad with hithchikers.

Re: love rock question

What I am going to buy is 2 5 gallon containers to cue the live rock in. After its cured its going straight in the tank.

Re: love rock question

Best way to find out is to switch off the lights in the evening and get a torch with a peice of red cellophane over it so it's not so bright and look what comes out in the dark...i had no idea how many little things I had in the tank until I did that!

Re: love rock question

What I would do was wait till my light cycle was over and around 12:30 I would use this little LED flashlight that had a red lense over it to look at my tank. Or just get a regular flashlight and some red wrapping paper and use it to look at your tank
