How long do I wait before adding LR to my tank?

For a pretty good deal, I just picked up about 50lbs of live rock from a local, just a half an hour drive. His tank was very healthy, rocks look colorful and smells very oceanic, some have lots of metallic green mushrooms. I cleaned them piece by piece by rigorously shaking them in clean saltwater bucket. Currently I put them in a large plastic garbage can with proper temperature & salinity, overhead light and a powerhead blowing.

1) How soon can I add these to my tank which already has fish?

2) Do I have to do any water changes during this quarantine?

The rock is already cured by what i'm reading and can be put in immediately if that is the case.

A day or two in this container can help ensure any die off is taken care of before it enters your tank and creates an ammonia spike.

Way old thread.

And it depends on how long the live rock is exposed to air from the LFS to your home. If its exposed to air for more than 10 minutes or so, it definitely would not be wise to add it straight to a tank with fish in it. Almost guaranteed die off if its exposed to air that long and it will cause a mini cycle in the tank.
