a good deal

I was at my second home ( LFS ), and grabed a few things. when i was paying the owner was looking for one of his employes to go to cosco and pick up bags, but nobody had a cosco card. in hearing this i piped up and said that i had one, so he asked me if i would mind and he would make it worth my while. so i agreed, since cosco is only about 5km away. when i returned with the bags he renbursed me for the bags and gave me 20lbs of live rock and a small pulsing xeona.....something, i drank to much last night and cant remember what its called. I was so shocked by the score i had to share

And it will! I got a tiny frag that had its first division within a few weeks, and started trying to take over the tank after only a few months. Very cool stuff, but it does have to be trimmed back from time to time. You might check ahead to see if any LFS in your area will take frags of it back from you from time to time. Sooner or later I imagine you'll have some for them!

Congrats on the score...sounds like a great deal!

how can you tell when they divide and when they get to the point when you have to trim them how do you trim and move them say to another tank or to the lfs. im very new to the SW world.

There won't be any question when it divides...you will see the main "stalk" begin to split, and over the course of a few days completely seperate until you are left with 2 distinct xenia. As for how to thin them and move them around, there are different ways. If you plan ahead, you can put some small plugs or rock fragments around the base of the xenia. As it divides, the xenia will gradually move over and attach itself to these frags and you can then just lift them out. Another way is to cut part of the xenia away (easiest at a division point) and then rubber band the seperated part to a small rock. The rubber band keeps the xenia attached to the rock until it adheres itself (1-2 weeks), after which time the rubber band can be removed.
