Hi, yesterday i bought a beautiful baby black volitans lion fish. I know that he will have to adjust before he should be ready to chow down but I am unsure what to feed him, looks too small for any feeder fish. The pet store told me that hes been eating bryne but he has gone after any of the frozen bryne i have, I'll probly have to get somthing live im guessing but I want to be prepared for him to have a gorme feast!

ill be posting pics of him up shortly

i ment to say he hasnt gone for any of the bryne.....he has however attempted to eat a few meal worms but he spits them back out i dont think he likes them....wouldnt blame them they look disgusting...... but any suggestions on what hed like to eat

I've merged your posts. There is an "edit" key at the bottom of every post that you can use for corrections and add on thoughts. Thanks!
Ken

Just becareful not to overfeed. They have voracious appetite to a point to cause a problems from over eateting.

Cant believe LFS used/recommend BS for such carnivorous fish. Even will require tons of Mysids to fill it up. You can use shrimp or prawn/krill/silversides/killies/spearing/ or other small s/w fish which are cheaper than what's usually sold in lfs.
Can also treat with Live Ghost shrimps (kept in f/w) to keep them alert/in shape (excercise while chasing).
When bought from supermarket, just steam it a bit or soak in f/w for a while to sterilize, that is if desired.

Have fun and becareful. If you are allergic to Bee Sting, not a best choice of fish to keep.

Start w/ small specimen possible as will outgrow 35 G pretty fast. Had few specimen which grew to more than 12-14". Went thru few home from 33G to 75G to 125/150G in no time. And freezerful of homemade cusines for them along with other large carnivorous fish

Check out FuManChu or Antenna or Radiata instead of Dwarf . Dwarf are OK but would be my last choice.

Just a matter of preference. I dont reaaly like somewhat fuzziness of Dwarf when compared to fumanchu/radiata. Only difficult part is that it is not as easy to find healthy fumanchu, especially radiata. Somehow difficulties in shipping from collector. Once well adapted all should do equally well but Fumanchu will be on shy side.
Hope you find what you like the most.
