Keeping Lionfish

I currently have a 22 gallon freshwater tank, I'm in the process of upgrading it to a 6' tank. I'm thinking of turning the small tank into a lionfish tank (as in just have one lionfish)

Is this possible? I'm not sure how a fullsize lionfish would go but I figure a dwarf should be ok in it. So - I need all the info I can get. What water parameters does it require, would there be enough room to have some liverock or something in the tank with it etc etc.

Thanks!

Fishlore has the dwarf lionfish listed as needing a 30g minimum, unfortunately.
They seem to be pretty big polluters.

I have never kept a lion, but from what I have read, sirdarksol is absolutely right. Even a dwarf would need a larger tank. 30 gallon is minimum, and 40-50 would be even better if you are going to put live rock in with the fish.

I think a 6 foot tank would be ok for a Pterois volitans. A protein skimmer and live rock will definitely help the water parameters too since you'd be feeding them small chunks of fish or shrimp a few times per week. They have poisonous spines so you'd have to be careful when working in the tank and if you have kids in the house you may want to reconsider the lionfishes.

They are super cool though.
