at night the tank light bothers me when im sleeping would it be ok for my rainbow shark and tiger barbs to be in the tank with the light turned off which means theyd be in a pitch black room too. would it be ok during night and i can leave it on during the day

How long are the lights on for?

I have mine on from 10am-9pm but only because I have plants. Yes you should shut the lights off at night.

Yeah you want them to have a day/night cycle just like they would in the wild. I leave my lights on for about 10-12 hours a day. (Have them on timers). So yes, go ahead and turn them off at night, better for your fish anyway.
