Upgrading Lights

Mods feel free to merge this into my other thread, but this one is specifically on lighting.

I'm planning on upgrading my lights from two incandescent bulbs from the kit to a 15 watt fluorescent. However, I have no idea how to install the fluorescent, due to the fixture. Here are some photos of the fixture:

Will I need to buy a new fixture for the fluorescents?

you can get screw in replacements for those no need to change the fixtures themselves

But then the only screw-in fluorescents are 10 watts, and I want at least 1.5 WPG to grow watersprite (my tank is 10g). Does having two 10 watt bulbs make 20 watts in all, or otherwise?

Can you measure the fixture? I assume it fits your aquarium well. It may be cheaper and easier to buy a new fixture than try to retrofit that one. I can throw some suggestions your way with measurements.

Yes if you put 2 10 watt bulbs in then you`ll have 20 watts of light if its for the 10 gallon you have in your info it should really be bright.

Haven't measured yet...the aquarium is 20 inches, so it's either 18 or 20 inches. No idea how many watts the incandescent one is, I got it from the kit.

Those lights in the kits are junk to me they make everything look yellow, I got a coral life 50/50 light for mine and it made a world of difference in the look of my little tank, and its a single bulb fixture I would think with two bulbs the light would be much more even thru the entire tank

Oh, yes, the tank looks a very annoying shade of yellow...
