so im in the market for getting a new light fixturee... cuz the "light" when i started is like.... years old and it WAS a two bulb fixture, but now only half works, so that made it a lil hard to get plants... and now i want plants but i need to make a few changes starting with my lights, and since ive NEVER replaced the lights or bought them idk what my half light even is! so i know very very little about light requirements.*deep breath* okay..

so i wanted to know what wattage is ideal for a 55 gallon tank in the medium lighting area.

I got a 55 and I just ordered a 8k for it on this site. Is a fair price for the light bulb.

Well according to your tank info you have plants in your tank so Need a light with high lumens to watts ratio to keep it economy safe. haha I like to put something that works for fish and plants so bright light is the key.
