85 gal lighting advice

I am setting up a new tank and looking for advice on lighting options. My current aquariums are a 20 gal tall and a 10 gal with standard flourescent lighting. I ve only been into this hobby for 6 months and learning every day. Thanks for the awesome site.

Here is my question. I am setting up a new tank and looking for any insite on lighting. The tank in question is as follows
85gal glass 36"wide 18"deep 30"tall (it will be viewed for both sides)
no live plants
fish are mollys, guppies, platties, 1 beta, 1 alge eater more to come.

the lights I am currently looking at are
Current USA : sundial
aquatic life CF w/lunar LED's
coralife power compact w/LED's

opnions on T5's vs. power compacts

Thanks again for the great site looking forward to new friends and lots of info.

Seeing as you won't be having live plants then I would just go for whatever suits you budget in both purchase price & running costs. Standard T5's would probably be my pick. If you might consider live plants in the future I would go with T5HO's or MH lights.
No live plants means you are really only after something that will allow you to view your fish & be pleasing to the eye. Makes it nice & simple.
