T 5 lighting

Hi i have two tank one is 7x2x2 other is 6x2x2 i want to have many plants low light plants like the elodea densa

I was thinking of getting two 80watt lights on t5 on both tanks with refiector fixing them on the inside of the hood.

you think this be ok?

Whoa you have a 209 gallon and a 180 gallon tank! I'm Jealous! I measured it by feet... Anyway 80 watts is too low for your 209g tank b/c you would only have .38 WPG and .44 for the 180g tank.

I agree totally. You need to get that up to at least 1.2-1.5wpg, even for low light plants. They are pricey, but will get you the intensity you need with fewer tubes. They do cost though. I nearly fell over yesterday when I saw the $614aus price on a 6ft fitting with 2 x 4ft tubes in it.
