More Watts!

While looking at the aquascaping section I fell upon this thread: http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.or...=view-showcase. Of couse I will need more experience before I can have any tank look like any of those shown in the website. I want to get lighting fixtures for medium - high lighted plants.

I found these on marinedepot.com:

http://www.marinedepot.com/Current_U...FIT5T5-vi.html
(I have to replace one bulb since I dont' have a reef tank)

http://www.marinedepot.com/Coralife_...S53000-vi.html
(This may be too long for my tank since light bulbs should be 18" for 10 gallon)

I also found these: http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/prod...oducts_id=1228 and http://www.bigalsonline.com/StoreCat...its=12&offset=

http://www.amazon.com/CORALIFE/dp/B0...2097506&sr=1-2

A co-worker also stated that Home Depot might have some light fixtures for 10 gallons. Anyone have success on this?

I appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

Lovely tanks in the link. I've enjoyed viewing them.

Don't forget, our home tanks will have filters, heaters and lids on them, so they
won't be as magnificent as the pictured ones.
They remove all that stuff for the photo shoot.

Good luck with your project.

Yes, I noticed they took them off but I don't mind plus plants will be covering most of it. Thank you!

Absolutely, gotta have the hardware. Planted tanks are great.
I just wanted to be sure you understood that these tanks are "staged" which is fine,
but a little misleading to folks new to plants.

eiginh, Thanks for the link! I've been on it for an hour now! I really enjoyed looking at what a planted tank is suppose to look like

I can't believe how strict the critics/judges were with there comments on the bottom of each picture . I know they're famous "aquascapers", but man would I love for my tank to look like some of their "worse" tanks.

credit should be on a different thread, I found the link at a different section lol. It's amazing what they can do, I'm just having a really hard time finding the right good lighting system for my 10 gallon! eh...

After a long weekend of researching lights, I decided to buy the Catalina Light Fixtures 36w PC.

http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/prod...oducts_id=1228 with this bulb 36W 6500K FULL SPECTRUM STRAIGHT PIN PC.

Hopefully the plants will thrive with these lights and the DIY Co2 system.
