Dual Satellite CF

Would a Dual Satellite CF running 2 6700k bulbs be too much for a heavily planted 75gal CO2 injected tank?

Thanks.

Is it a 48 inch with two 65 watt bulbs? That's not to much light. With 130 watts you would be at 1.73 watts per gallon. There are some members that really know lighting, hopefully they can offer some advice too.

Current's website lists the 48" dual satellite fixture with four bulbs, not two.

That said, no, 260W not necessarily too much. You may have to play with your photoperiod (how long the lights are on), CO2 levels, and fertilization to keep algae at bay, but it's certainly manageable.

Note that by default, two of the bulbs included with that fixture are actinic, which offer less benefit to freshwater planted tanks than they would marine reef tanks.

I already own it, but had it on a SW tank.
Its a 36" dual so both at 96watts. So 192 / 75 gives me 2.5 watts per gallon. Should be fine for low and moderate light plants correct?
Also, which I hadn't thought of before, it won't cover the full length of the tank which might help the lower light plants?

That should be fine for low and moderate light plants, and probably many "high light" plants as well (assuming your CO2 and ferts are at the appropriate levels)
