I just put Coralife Day-Max Freshwater Aquarium Daylight Lamp with color-enhancing phosphors 15 watt bulb in my 10 gallon tank. I have two anibus plants that is it. Is this a good light to put in my tank?

Re: New Bulbs

Does it say the spectrum on it, it should be around 6700K for plant growth. It should be good, most daylight are though with anubias you shouldn't have to worry.

Re: New Bulbs

A standard daylight lamp should be OK for low light plants such as Anubias. I think 15 watts is OK for a 10 gallon tank with Anubias. Plants usually like to be under a 7,600 K spectrum but a daylight lamp (which is at or close to 10,000 K) should be OK as well.

Re: New Bulbs

Isabella I thought most plants like 6,700K no 7,600K? Anubias can grow under any light almost with 15w Jay could grow different pretty cool plants if time is available

Re: New Bulbs

Atm, sorry I made a mistake. I meant 6,700 K. Thanks for picking that up But actually ... nothing bad would happen if someone had a spectrum of 7,600 K in a planted tank since ranges from 6,700 K to 10,000 K (or mixing of 6,700 K and 10,000 bulbs) are OK for plants. Though the 10,000 K bulb will visibly have more blue hue in it than a 6,700 K will. And keep in mind that the more blue hues you have in your light, the more likely it is for you to have algae problem.

Re: New Bulbs

What's the spectrum on it? If it's fluorescent it's probably ok though I would just go with a daylight or plant bubl.

Re: New Bulbs

If it's fluorescent it's probably ok, wouldn't worry about it unless you get a lot of algae.
