More light for a 55 gallon tank.

I have a standard light fixture for a 55 gallon tank. It is a single 40 watt florescent bulb.
I want to buy a new fixture with about 75 watts.
Please tell me what fixture I can buy from Foster&Smith.
The catalog number would be super.

Hi Drew, not knowing exactly what you have as your hood, but assuming you meant the type that has a hinged door in front, a glass panel in middle area, then the back is all plastic with cut outs for equipment, and your light strip seats right over the glass area... if I'm assuming this correctly you might have luck with Perfecto's double bulb strip which is like your single strip except they cram two in to one that would still fit in the glass area of your existing hood, if I'm assuming correctly. Here's the #,

perfecto double bulb strip, CD-27651

Then you could have 40w x 2, 80w, and a w/g of 1.45. bulb comes with and I don't see you have much planted tank yet in your 55 so you could later get the bulbs that would best suit your needs if you do get any other live plants. If by chance your just desiring to illuminate the 55 for better viewing, maybe just upgrade to a more intense whiter bulb, what type is it now?
