DIY/cheap lights???

i'm a 13 year old so i have no money to get some really expensive lighting but i need it for my tank because i got live plants down in my smallest tank and want to upgrade live plants to my big tank. can anyone tell me how upgrade my lighting by DIY or find cheap lights

Just to be clear, your "smallest tank" is the 11g in your aquarium info section, and your "big tank" is a 63g?

Before offering any advice with regards to lighting, I will caution you on adding plants to the larger tank. Clown loaches can be active enough to uproot plants, and silver dollars are notorious for eating plants. Hardy, thick-leaved plants like members of the Anubias genus (examples here) would likely be your best bet if you do add plants.

As far DIY/cheap lighting, there are several options, depending on which of your tanks you're asking about.

One example for a larger tank that might give you some ideas can be found here, though like the poster said, it likely would have been better to use a flat white paint than to use the aluminum tape.
