How do I get moderate lighting?

Hi. I have a 10 gallon tank and it comes with a 15watt flourescent bulb. I want to plant plants that need moderate levels of light, found this out from research I've done. Do I need to buy a new hood or just a new bulb? Got conflicting advice from my LFS. Not sure what to do.
And how much would this cost?
Thank you!
Clare

You can just get another bulb....I recommend GroLux bulbs, they're excellent for plants.

Thanks, that sounds perfect! They don't look too expensive either. I'll check to see if my LFS has them, and it looks like they may be available at hardware stores too.
Thanks!

What kind of hood and bulb is it? Just a screw in or a tube? What ever it is make sure to look on the hood for a max wattage rating that it can handle.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind and check. I heard you can put 2 compact flourescent tubes in place of one, 2 shorter ones.
And I just found a website that shows a lot of information about what kind of number ratings your bulb should have, found it on plantgeek.com:

I'b get a plant/gorwlite bulb. It will cause a minimal amount of alagae growth whitch is actually beneficial to the eco system in your tank. just scrub it off the front viewing panel of the tank. leave it on the other walls
