My homemade moonlight setup

Well, I added some LED strips I had laying around to my already custom light setup. The units have 3 surface mount LEDs each and there are 2 units total. I think I'm going to add a few single white LEDs too to make it just a bit brighter. I know it's supposed to be "moon" lights, but with the black rocks and black background, it's just not enough to see much. Anyways, this setup didn't cost me anything because I already had the stuff sitting around, including the 12v adapter, lol.

Pics taken with manual exposure of about 6sec, lol.

Thanks. I actually have another idea. There are LED lights available at places like Autozone and Advance Auto that have 4 individual LEDs in their own weatherproof pods at intervals of about 1ft on a wire. Each pod has it's own backing of 3m tape. I checked last night, and one package cost $9. A package consists of 8 lights on 2 strings (4 on each) and they come in red, blue, green, white, purple, and color changing. I'll probably be picking some up this weekend to see if I can make them work like I want. Then I'll decide if I want to use 4 plus the ones I have or 8 plus the ones I have, and decide if I want blue, white, or a mix. I also have some LED lights that until now, I did not even consider could be used for overhead lighting. 2 48" tubes that can change 7 colors and 2 36" tubes as well. I wonder how well they'd light the tank up? They're also dimmable, so just turn em down for moon lighting. Hmmmmm, I can't believe I just now thought about those (they're up above the bar and provide ambient lighting for parties, lol). Now I have to think of how to design a hood...

Actually, I have to turn my computer monitor off and have it be pitch black in the room, then let my eyes adjust before I can see in the tank, lol. It's actually very dim, and as I said, I needed about a 6sec exposure on the camera to get anything visible...had to break out the tripod for that one, and my girlfriend was like "OMG nerd" lol.
