My new aquarium came with some very cool Coralife lights. The flourescent bulbs are plainly labeled "65w," but the actinic bulbs just have D05 stamped on the base. I'd like to add some plants to my tank, but I don't know how to calculate my watts per gallon. Is there a standard for these bulbs?

im guessing that if they are the same length as the 65w one, then they are 65 watts

They are the same length. There are two fixtures, each about 30 inches long, and they each have two "double-bulbs" in them. The front lights are flourescent and the back ones actinic.

So... If you are correct then I have 260 watts of light over my 110 gallon tank. That's 2.36 WPG. I should be able to grow *something!*
