Fluorescent lid for 10g

Are there such things as a 10g fluorescent lid for 10 gallon tanks? Because I can't have my light on for long because of the heat from the common incandescent lids. Thanks

My 29g is a perfecto, It's a family heirloom, they last a long time. Are the bulbs hard to find? And are they relatively expensive? Thanks

I thought all standard kits came with fluorescent hoods these days? Hmm. But yes, they are out there.

Aqueon (formally All Glass) makes them for all standard aquariums.

yea you can find them how ever you may have to the whole hood and light which could run around 30 bucks but then you can also buy different lights for what u have in the tank when i had my 10g planted i bought the light for planted tanks but you are supposed to change the tube every year because it loses 50% of it strength. hope this helps a bit

You can always use compact florescent bulbs. They are so much cooler, last SO much longer, and are a lot brighter. You can grow all sorts of plants with them!

The walmart where I live also sells the hood/light for a 10 gallon. I like it better, because it has a top that opens like a hood for a larger tank would, not just that tiny door. (meaning you don't have to take the entire top off just to do something in the tank!!).
