Help with lighting and ballast

I am not sure if this is the right place for this question but I am hoping someone has done some DIY lighting and could help me out.

Would I be able to hook up two ballasts to one switch and then to a plug for a wall outlet?
Check the pic to see a basic wiring diagram.

I plan to put all of this under a wooden canopy using water resistant end caps.

Could this work?

You can run two tubes off of ballasts the most important thing is to match wattage and ballasts.electronic ballasts are best and always remember to incorporate a device for disconnection under fault conditions.ballasts will have diagram on them for wiring order as well.small miniature circuit breakers are best for protection as you do not want to rely on your power point or plug protective device at the switchboard it will have a much higher rating for disconnection under a fault condition than one selected and incorporated in the wiring for you lamps only as lamps draw a very small current.this is a good idea for all extra equipment as only the circuit breaker supplying the individual units will disconnect for the problem equipment and not a total disconnection of everything ie heater pumps etc when you are not around.also be wary of heat generated at the tube endcaps this is the point of quite a lot of heat so provide a heatshield on some form of heat resistance here.hope this was interesting and am happy to help more if needed
