lightining+plant = huh????

okay i decided to do a lightly planted tank but i dont think that the flouresent light bulbs that came with 29 gallon tank from petco doesnt have the power enought to grow them, but ive seen the plants already rooting into the gravel, just checked the wattage on the bulb and its a whooping 17w i think its not enought but by pure luck my neightbor likes to cook and grow his on herbs so, he gave ayear ago his herb growing aparatus the has lightinig system that has a full spectrum 5700w light and theres two light bulbs i decieded to put it i doesnt quit fit but i plan to use for about and 1 or 2 every day so the plants can phtosyntesis is this to much for my 29gallon tank or what?

Couldn't find any information on wrasse plant, any pictures. The other is probably Italian valisneria. Is this it? http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=196

Hygro will grow anywhere. You probably already have enough light. If you use the other lights keep an eye out for algae to start.

I am cycling fishless a 29g bow, the light it came with is also 17W, which possibly means two things: a) 0.59WPG max; or b) 0.85WPG max -considering the bottom area equals a 20gal tank. Either scenario means I have (as you do) a low light environment.
I do some trial-error here, I have the following plants:
a) Anubias Afzelii (two)
b) Anubias Barteri (two)
b) Sword (Echinodorus palaefolius var. latifolius) (two)
c) Anacharis (Egeria densa) (a bundle of 6)
d) Tropical Hornwort (a tall bundle)
e) valisneriana yet to be classified (two bundles)
f) one yet to be identified light green tall plant
Figure you'll be ok with 17W.
