Folks,

I'm trying to get more light for my 50 gallon tank. I have a 30W right now that came with the Hood/Light assembly that I bought.

This is not enough for my plants (a few low light plants anyway), so I was looking into getting something with more power. Problem is, that the fixture supports only ONE bulb, and a T8 size. I'm not interested into going overboard and buying another fixture/hood!

Anybody knows of a T8 size bulb that would go to 50-65W? That would be the easiest/cheapest way to fix my problem. I'm not sure if the ballast would be able to keep up with the demand, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I'll check soon the ballast to see if it has the Wattage values on it. I couldn't find anything on the papers.

I'm looking into getting a 6500K bulb, or somewhere arround that.

So,

nobody has any ideea on these T8 bulbs? Then thinner ones (1" diameter, compared to 1 1/2 on the standard T12s)

Please help out.

I looked all over the place here and couldn't really find the answer on my own.

There isn't anyone to have or know of a 50-65W T8 bulb?

Or whatever they recommed.
