i was getting ready to get a better light system for my semi planted tank and found these affordable t-5 14 watt bulbs that will fit in my current balasts and was wondering if they were enough to sustain the plants in my tank without spending a lot of money on a new high watt system. they just seem like vary low wattage for plants. Any light shed on my situation would be appreciated. thanks

Depends on what kinds of plants you'll have, how large (gallons) and how deep your tank is, as well as how long the tank is.
