Lunar Moon Lights

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113544

So I bought them... along with a timer power strip. I only bought 1 light.. it said use 1 for every 2 feet of tank. I actually think I could have used two, would have lit up the tank better... but I have mine centered but towards the front. I screwed it into the part of the hood that lifts up.

It looks really cool and my fish seem to like it. It keeps the tank dark enough that it's still dark... but when they swim through the light.. it's awesome!!! I've actually seen my ghost shrimp three days in a row!!! lol

I recommend these!!!! And oh yeah, I bought the blue one. Maybe I'll take a picture one of these days. It looks GREAT on the colliseum!

Re: Lunar Moon Lights

I have 2 of these over my 75 gallon tank, and I LOVE them I also highly recommend them. Mine are white in color. I like colors that are as close to natural (solar and lunar) light as possible, and I believe these white lunar lights come very close to the natural moon's light. I didn't screw mine to my tank hood (mainly because I have a glass top, lol), but they're hanging about 5 inches above the tank. And I have to tell you that they look much better this way because the higher light location illuminates more of the tank's inside and with a gentler intensity. This way, they don't look like spot lights but rather as a natural moon light, which is exactly what I wanted

I don't know if you can see the color of the light well, but here is a picture of my moonlights on, taken while I was setting up my 75 gallon tank:

Re: Lunar Moon Lights

I have one of the blue ones arriving today (from Drs. F&S) for my 10 gallon. I'm going to try sticking it in the middle of the plastic filler on my Perfecto single tube hood with a double-sided sticky pad thing. I figure that way it'll illuminate the center of the tank nicely at night.

I'll report back how it looks.

Hi, first post after some lurking... great forum!

Isabella, can you explain how you've mounted these lights with a glass top? Thanks!
