I have a full fluorescent hood but I dont know what bulb I should replace it with when the time comes to replace the bulb. It doesnt say the watage on the box. any suggestions on how I can figure out what kind of bulb it takes. Its for a 10 gallon tank.

Standard ten gallon bulb usually is 15watts. When you replace it try to get 6,700Kelvin bulb, ignore whatever the box says the bulb is for, sometimes they say they are for tanks and they really aren't. I am not sure of the exact measurments but I think around 18-20"

thats weird I found where it says what size and its a 17 whatt bulb.

I do not know then. When you do buy a bulb, check with the store and make sure you can return it if it doesn't work for you fixture or bring your fixture in and try it there.
