Using pond liner?

Hi everyone

I am worried about direct contact of a lot of slate straight onto the glass base of my future tank. I have some left over pond liner I thought I could use to act as a cushion. It's suitable for outdoor fish so I can't see why it can't be used.

Thanks
Ron

are you asking if there would be problems using pond liner? i don't think there would be any problems as long as the liner was clean. seems like a good idea for protecting the bottom of a tank.

Hope you don't mind, I moved your thread to a more appropriate section of the forum.

I know some members have put aqaurium safe silicone on the bottom of their rocks to keep them from scratching glass or acrylic.

Thanks Lucy. Slowly getting used to where things are = lots to discover.

I like the idea of silicone but I would need bucket loads and am limited if I need to rearrange.

Just read an article where it is recommended to change water in ponds several times in the first week to remove any toxins from the liner.
I think I'll submerge in and replace water in my trusty shell bath over the next two weeks. My garden plants benefit from the water anyway!
