Around my Kuhli loaches neck there is a cut or something, it is skin color, he/she is acting fine just very active.

I am trying to figure out if it is a cut or what it is?


Also since I got the loach I have had tan stuff at the bottom of my tank I am not sure if it is the flake food that falls down or what? Please give me an answer thank you.

Pictures would really help. Though i can say I have washed out tan flakes at the bottom of my tank sometimes and those are leftover flake food.

It is really hard every time I get my camera it starts moving around and will not let me get a pic. I got a video though!

Could the loach have gotten stuck at some point, into a decoration or something?

as far as the tan stuff, can you let us know how long the tanks been running? what size the tank is? whats in the tank with the loach? and whats the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates of the tank? If you go to my settings, and fill in the aquarium info, it helps us try to help you more without all the questions ...it could be diatoms (new tank algae) or even overfeeding ....

we have allot of loach members that can help more, but getting the answer to these questions, will help ...

Will the cut heal?

With good clean water it should heal. Doing a couple of extra water changes would ensure this. Now you need to find out what caused it if you can.
what kind of substrate do you have ? Anything sharp in the tank?

as carol said, good, clean , cycled water will help him but finding out what happened is important also

I got up around 3:00 am I heard something with my filter I checked in the filter and the kuhli loach was in there, I got him out and he had cuts everywhere, I covered the filter right away but the next day he died.

Sorry to hear... It looks like he was too interested in the filter. If you have more kuhli loaches in your tank you can put a sponge media covering the intake tube of your filter.

Well, guess I am not getting those anymore although I would like to I am not allowed to.


The death looked painful since he went through the thing in the filter that spins around.



Anyone know any cheap fish that are fun to watch, also active.

Can you also input your aquarium info, You can do it by going to the sub menus that have a blue background listed horizontally on top of each page. Then click my settings and click edit aquarium info. Remember it's optional so no worries I'm asking so we know what fish mates you can have
