Kuhli Loach pH

Hello, I was wondering if Kuhli Loaches can thrive at a pH of 7.8. I ask this because my tap water is at this level, and I use our extremely small RO unit for water changes. However, it's such a hassle because I cannot change out more than about 4 gallons per day with the RO. It would be much easier to use my tap water with a higher pH. Would this fish be okay with that pH? Thanks for your time.

I answered in your profile but will re-post here Kuhlis will be fine at that pH as long as they are acclimated slowly. They also need extremely clean, highly oxygenated water

Okay thank you very much how many would you suggest for a twenty gallon tank? Four sounds good, but I'm willing to get more if I have the space. I have an airstone will that be sufficient aeration? Thanks

What other fish are in the 20g? They love are stones Mine play in the bubbles.
If you leave a couple of inches under your filter where the water pours out that will help oxygenate the water also.

At least 6 Kuhlis would be good. they have such a small bioLoad even when grown you might even be able to do 8. They do need lots of hiding/sleeping places too.

If I take a picture of my tank could you let me know if I should place more hiding places in the tank? Thanks you for helping out.
