Otos are a very small fish, max 2" small bioload and very sensitive you cannot really put them in new tanks the tank has to be stable and even with really good aclimitization you may or will lose some.

they like to be in groups, so no less than 3 5 would be better.

The tank has to be stable for the loaches as well.

I know about the stability of the loaches and ottos and such. I don't think I'll add the ottos unless I find a place for my platies. I've had them awhile so I'm reluctant to sell them....atleast rick....

freshwater salt is still salt, it's just less concentrated than marine salt which is used in saltwater tanks. it's still an irritant to corycats since they don't have scales.

Okay, so then the finale decision is:
I'll get my current fish in the tank first, then add the extra neons. I'll wait a week before getting the zebra danios though. Myabe a month or so after I've gotton the tank all stable and nice, I'll add the three khulis. Sound good?

To answer your question. Corys don't like salt of any kind. Aquarium salt is still sodium chloride and that is salt
It's not only hard for scaleless fish( because it's an abrasive and causes their slime coat to over produce) it also messes with their bodies. In freshwater fish(when using salt) the salt concentration is heavier in the water than their bodies and water will be pulled from their bodies and cause dehydration.

That sounds good to me. Deff add the loaches last once you know the tank is balanced.

Okay, thanks for all the help everyone! Oh, and did anyone figure out whether the khulis would be okay with shrimp?

Well, I never got the smaller substrate for my 29. I'm thinking about just putting 3-4 in my 10gal with the two platies

I have 5 Kuhli's and they dont seem to bother my shrimp, snails, or other baby fish at all. I feed them sinking shrimp pellets

My kuhlis have never bothered my amano shrimp. They eat sinking shrimp pellets (but so do the shrimp haha) and they are always sifting through the sand for food. It's funny watching then because their head goes under the sand and you see sand shooting out from their gills.
