nip here nip there nip everywhere

my kribensis have paired up because they laid egg but they ate them that is what someone told me on another fourm but now the male is nipping the female i think he has stopped but she still want go to the bottom of the tank i don't think she tusts him they have done this before but it lasted a few about 15min

Hello Kribensis. Best wishes for your next batch of eggs. Sometimes it just takes practice. Sounds like your male may still be in spawning mode and the female isn't. I'm sure you'll get some more responses. Just keep your eye on things.

your title made me laugh. I'm sorry your eggs were eaten and now you have a naughty male. always the case.

Yes it means you have a breeding pair. As I mentioned sometimes it just takes some practice before they get it right.

Good point Shawnie. I'm not sure how to sex them or if they can even be sexed without seeing exposed papilla but if you could post some photos maybe someone could tell you for sure.

they are male and female because one has a really red belly and one has more pointy fins then the other

Chances are good you have a breeding pair. Give them a couple of weeks and see if they attempt to spawn again.
