I had to put my Krib pair in the 10G hospital tank for a couple weeks. Since they have been in there the male is beating up the female. I used a tank divider to remedy that situation. The had only been a pair for two weeks.

My question: Is it likely that the fighting will cease once they get back to their 55G? Or is it more likely that they will continue to go at it? Should I get another female for the male once they are ready to go back to the 55g?

It maybe due to fact that female isnt ready? How about wating until intorduced to 55G and see if need to separate and/or purchase new female! How about better feeding/conditioning for female (live/frozen food) while in isolation?

My Kribs are an established pair and their third spawn are a month old at the moment, but I still have to separate them sometimes. The Male was beating up the female last night so I removed her to the community tank and left dad to care for the young. But they'll pair up again soon.

Thanks for the responses. It seems the female is now taunting the male with her purple belly from the other side of the divider... what a tease.

He still looks like he wants to kick her ass, though. In another week (maybe 2) I'll put them into the 55G and see what happens. I just need to make sure that the Columnaris is truly gone... The male had a full blown case of the cotton mouth, but is now seemingly very healthy.
