My first baby kribs - parents fighting

Help! Got my first spawn, and now have little ones out of the cave.. Have spent the day watching the now 4-day olds bounce around on the substrate following whichever parent is near by. What fun! Was bragging to my hubby about the good pair of parents. They have taken turns for two days, minding the brood . . . until suddenly this afternoon they broke out in an awful fight. I finally stuck a net in to break it up. Turned out the light and left them alone a few hours. When I came back, the female is hiding under a box filter and the male is minding the kids. He is very aggressive toward the female, to the point she won't come out of hiding. What should I do now

Financial arguements? lol

Actually, the males of most parental fish species have a tendency to be aggressive to their mates. You might want to temporarily divide the tank or separate the parents until the fry have grown, and let the male take care of them for now.

Thanks for the reply. Update: The "morning after" the BIG fight, babies were GONE and Mom and Dad had made up!!! They are getting along VERY well now, and she appears to be getting more plump and showing off her belly.

Guess she stays with him because she loves him.... lol.

Should I take parents out of tank after they spawn?

No, the mom will guard the fry, and the father will guard the terretory
