Well, you know a great deal comes to you, you can't pass it up, and that's how I got this tank.
On Kijiji, there was a lady selling a 5 Gallon "Hermit Crab" Tank with lights, a heating pad, etc for $25. I asked her if she could go lower if she got rid of the heating pad, and she said she could, or she could sell me a 10 Gallon for $10
I had an itch for a female
betta, and now with the means of getting one, I decided to look around for one. One place close by said "We can special order you some", so I said please and they did. I walked in and there she was, yellow body with fiery red tips on her fins. Even the lady at the store said she was amazing.
So I brought her home, acclimated her for an hour or so, and put her in. She was a bit slow to explore (going from a cup where you can't turn to a 10 gallon will do that to you I guess

), but she seemed alright. I had to go for the night, so I shut off the lights (so she would be calmer) and left.
Next morning I stroll in, say "Hey" to Zaboo and look in the girl's tank, and nothing :O I tore that tank apart three times, nothing. Looked all around the tank, nothing. A few weeks later when I was moving out, I found her. Somehow she had wedged herself under the tank

I decided no more females for a while, and then was faced with the option many people are stuck with, what to you even put in a 10 besides a Betta?
I decided on Shellie's, and I'd read a couple Gup's would keep them active, so I strolled over to PetSmart and picked up two males (I didn't want any of that going on in my fish tank). Then I turned my focus to finding Shellie's. Impossible to get anywhere I found for a reasonable price (or any price at all for that matter). So now I had two Guppie's. It was a nice, active tank, so I left it for the few days before I moved back home for the summer.
I get home, fill up the Betta 10, this ten and when I went to grab the 15 I saw some water on the carpet of the cab on the truck. Hmmm....how did that get there? Then I saw it. The tank my dad had owned since his 8th birthday (he's old now :P) had a crack down the side

Apparently when someone shut the door, they hadn't looked too carefully. So I throw my 5 Zebra Danio's and 1 W.C.M.M in with the 2 Gup's into the 10. Horribly overstocked

However, one Guppy decided travelling wasn't for him, but he did one last trip to fishy heaven. Then the other one decided to swim up the intake tube on my filter and get stuck while I was gone for the weekend (the Zebra Danio's liked that :S)
Now, it's sitting in my room, and I'm wondering if I even, ethically, can keep these fish anymore. The Zebra's need a bigger home than this (after owning them, a 15 should be BARE minimum), and the White Cloud is lonely, but I don't think any pet stores in Thunder Bay take back fish, and I can't find anyone to take them. These were my first fish though, and I do want to give them good homes, but I may end up keeping them. Not many pictures of this tank:
