20 Gallon - Egyptian Mouthbrooder - Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor - Pictures :D

Well, I received a 20 Gallon for my 19th birthday, and at the advise of an "LFS", I decided to stock it with a trio of Egyptian Mouthbrooders. This will be my first attempt at Cichlids. I am going to have a dark (hopefully black) sand substrate. I was debating on whether or not to do a plain black background or a DIY 3D, and I think I'm going to be doing a 3D, so hopefully it will work out okay. Filtration will by an Aquaclear 50, and the heater will be, of course, a Visi-Therm Stealth This will also be my first attempt at a planted tank, I am planning on just trying some easy ones due to my lack of experience and lighting restraints. The list will hopefully include:
Hornwort
Java Moss
Lace Java Fern
Cryptocoryne walkeri

Hopefully, to bypass the cycle, I have the filter running on a already stocked tank, if my research is correct, this will get a good bacteria colony going (it will be on that tank for a month). I am not at home until June 23, so I have a lot of time to plan I will keep you updated,

Cory

Sand is now in the tank, so I'm just letting it settle. I will take pictures in a bit

I can't remember (bag is outside), it's sand blasting sand. I know some say not to use it, but I practiced vaccuming and it wasn't bad. One thing to do though, rinse WELL. It probably took me an hour or so to do it.

I've had sand before and wasn't completely crazy about it, but I love the look of that black sand!

When do you get your fish?

I'm not sure when I'm going to Thunder Bay next. My parents are going sometime next week, so I may see if they can pick them up for me, if not, not until mid-July or so.

I'm actually running an Aquaclear on another established tank (has been for over 3 weeks now), so I'm planning on just dropping it on when I get my fish, and I'll add my Eheim also.

I don't have anyone named yet, only planning on naming the male E.M. and the Plec. Here's some quick pictures:

Well, here is what the tank looks like now,

Everyone's coloured up nicely, even the females It's really fun watching these guys eat. You'll put in pellets and they'll swirl around the top, but when they drop, WATCH OUT! It's like a war zone in there Also, the male is King Tut and the Pleco is Charley (I don't know if it's male or female, so I thought a unisex name would work ) Just thought I'd throw up an update
